Vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid is a viscous oil that is soluble in ethanol and water. It is produced by plants and microorganisms. d-(+)pantothenic acid is the naturally occurring form of pantothenic acid and is biologically active.
Calcium D-pantothenate, also called vitamin B5 is a water-soluble B vitamin and therefore an essential nutrient.

D-Calcium Pantothenate is white powder, has no smelly odor and tastes a little bitter. D-Calcium Pantothenate has hydroscopic property. The aqueous solution of D-Calcium Pantothenate shows neutrality or slightly alkaline. D-Calcium Pantothenate is easy to dissolve in water, slightly solvable in ethanol, almost cannot dissolve in chloroform or ether.
